Memorial Day camping trip!

Saturday night after, like we had been planning, we left on a camping trip with lots of our friends! We camped up the mountain, near Yale lake. We were on the side of the mountain in the middle of the woods with a beautiful view of the lake!

Our tents were right behind us, hidden in the brush!

These are a few of the friends that went, I ended up not really taking pictures of anyone!!

* The part that you don't see is that Austin (the young one in the back ground ) is holding an ax in his hands.

My favorite two Johnsons were there with me...

We went on a few riding trips and had a beautiful view! It is really random the things that you find in the woods.

Saturday we spent the day down at the lake fishing with a few other people.

And also exploring the woods!

We took a ton of great pictures, but we are both exhausted. Lily has been passed out from the second we took off on the drive home until now, with only a quick wake to walk in the house.

And also can I just say that I have the sweetest husband ever!

Things that I love!

Hyrum and I have been working our butts off lately and tomorrow we are heading into the middle of the woods for two nights of camping with a group of our good friends! I have to work all day tomorrow but Hy and all the men folk will have it set up for us by then! Hyrum is actually checking our air mattress for leaks while I sit in the middle of it!

Lots of pictures when we get back into town!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I am in love with these things right now!

I am totally in love with the Vegan Spelt Chocolate chip cookies that we make at the Dessert Tray! They aren't something we bake off every day so when we have some they are almost every one's favorite! Especially my favorite vegan, the only vegan I know, Beth. They are undeniably good!

I am loving these cupcakes, and when I invite everyone over for movie night I am going to make them!

And I am so in love with this cake! Go Robin!

Tomorrow is Saturday, which is my most favorite day at work! The orders are bigger and everything is a lot more busy! It is such a blast!

I have to say that I am absolutely loving this room design! And if I didn't already love the way I decorated my living room then I would totally do it! Maybe when we buy a house!

Now I am off to go help Hy get camping gear ready!

Our Newport get away...

Hyrum and I had been having a very busy couple of weeks with work and everything else! We decided that Saturday immediately after I was done at work, he was going to pick me up, and we were just going to hit the road.

We had no idea where we were going. The plan was to just get in the car, visit lots of fun places, and chose a place to stay when we were tired.

The first part of our trip involved us getting out of the city and into the farm lands!

We decided to stop in Tillamook and visit the massive dairy and take the tour.

The cheese was great, although his parent's dairy makes much better!

After the cheese, we drove for a few hours, stopping often to take pictures.

After driving for a few hours, we started to look for bed and breakfasts that would suit our taste. We probably drove past 30 before we finally saw one that we LOVED.

I won't tell you the name, because I don't want YOU to fall in love with it too! Selfish I know, but it was lovely!

Our room was absolutely lovely and we chose it because it had the best view of the beach and the ocean out of the whole house.

The view right outside of our room...

Before breakfast we took a walk down on the beach. We were having a blast jumping around on the rocks and looking for tide pools.

After check out we spent the day exploring Newport. It was so much fun. We started out by exploring the boardwalk and the boats.

Well that and some local friends that randomly come to visit.

We spent some time at the Ripley's Museum just for kicks...

Followed by the wax museum...

and the underwater garden.

After all of that fun, we went to Oregon's tallest lighthouse and climbed all the way to the top!

Yes we climbed the many flights of stairs it took to get up to the lense at the top!

Followed by black sand beaches...

We ate the most fresh and fantastic tasting sea food the whole time we were in town! Now we are super exhausted and need some to time to recover!

We are really looking forward to next month's get away too!
