Open Letters...

Dear Napster,

I love you, trust me when I say that. I lovingly pay your monthly fee and explore your depths often. But if you do not put Marina and The Diamonds on your play bill soon, I will be forced to cut you off.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Pregnant People of the World,

Leave me alone. Stop projecting your dreams on to me.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Falafel vendor,

I am pretty positive that what I ate was NOT in fact falafel. Why??

------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear brother in law Dave,

You can move out now. Thanks.

-------------------------------------------------------

Dear hands,

I know that I wash you 200 times a day (very literally) but stop being so cracked already. I put lotion and bag balm on you constantly, yet you are still pissed off. PLease forgive me?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear people who talk about private things publicly,

Go on and shut up already!

-----------------------------------------------------------

Simple things I am thankful for....

1. Waking up early and knowing I get to sleep for a few more hours.
2. Hyrum coming home safely from work.
3. My JOB!
4. Our daily ladies lunch followed by a cuppa.
5. My super sexy car.
6. Banana whipped cream cake.

Terrible at blogging anymore...

It has been really rainy in Portland (like every winter) and so between work, spending time with my family, and playing mass amounts of Super Mario on our Wii...

Not much else has been going on. So here is our day to day...

Hyrum's parents sent us $200 worth of raw dairy. Want to know what $200 dollars worth of dairy looks like??

Of course you do.

Of course lots of cake:

Hazelnut cake with marionberry filling and frosting

Spelt Cake

Robin did a sweet set of cakes for one year old twins

and a wedding cake

I bet you will never guess where I took this photo...

This week has a big chocolate event coming up, so I expect us to be a lot more busy. Hopefuly I am able to get some sleep tonight! Wish me good luck.

Simpatico...

Friday was Hy's 25th birthday! We started the day with Hy going to work and me taking the day off (doesn't quite seem fair huh?). While he worked, I made his birthday cake. I didn't do anything too fancy, but I wanted to do make something he would like.

So I made him a german chocolate cake with chocolate chunks and glazed it in milk chocolate.

He loves poker, so that's where I went with it.

--------------------------------------------------

We met up at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and it was tasty. After lunch he had the rest of the day off, so we went and visited Melissa at Sweet Cakes and my favorite boyfriend Elijah (who is now as tall as a weed and 4!) Melissa had some great news to share! She is now expecting their 4th child! Im really happy for them!

For our date that night we started out by going to Cinetopia. Which is a little pricier than a regular theater but so worth it. While waiting for your movie you are invited to spend time in the adult lounge...

When it's finally time to watch the movie, the seating quantity is greatly reduced. Making sure instead that everyone gets a recliner and automans. There is also full bar and restaurant service while you watch the movie. Basically = it's great!

We saw "Up In The Air". Which was great in a really vulgar way. The ending was lacking to me though...

For dinner we went to Rib City. Which was excellent, as always.

--------------------------------------------------

I have to show off a cake that Robin made for the front counter at work. It is really beautiful.

Not a whole lot going on this week. Just enjoying a little down time. Work is slower after the holidays which is really nice.

And yes... Dave is still living with us.

Declining Orbit...

Between the crazy Christmas schedule at work

The mass amounts of holiday shopping, lunch hours at the post office, and the general lack of sleep, I have fallen off the face of the planet.

I have just had the last 5 days off and I go back to work tomorrow.

So what have we been up to?

We celebrated Christmas

We spent time at Wingmans (where if you ask for face melting wings they will actually give you face melting wings.)

I finally did some baking at home

and made Orange Cream Cheese Danishes with an Orange Glaze.

Grandma Zola's birthday is the 7th and Hyrum's is the 8th. Lots of planning going on this week!
