Sunday living...

Every Sunday Hy and I head over to Sonic for Happy Hour! He gets the strawberry limeaid slush and I get the raspberry limeaid. Its pure brilliance!

-----------------------------------------------

The weather has been so warm lately, that every night for at least a few hours we play in the grass with the puppy.

(She obviously doesn't hate it!)

----------------------------------------------

Hy got up early this morning and went to work on our yard. I love laying in the freshly mowed lawn!

*You can barely see Lily chilling in the grass.

All of my summer flowers are coming in now that the spring ones are done.

My light yellow roses are the first to bloom!

The bush in the front yard has exploded with color

And our pears are starting to come in again....* our tree grows the MOST scrumptious pears you have ever eaten.

--------------------------------------------

This last week I put together a mock up of a cake that I am doing in less than 2 weeks. It is for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. The colors will be different, but this was just a method test! I am pretty happy with it considering I didnt take much time. Cant wait to see the whole thing done! 3 tiers I think.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

And of course I have been entertaining myself with mass amounts of Henna powder

------------------------------------------------------------------

.....and in closing; my 2 favorite blogs of ALL time!

Blog.PinkCakeBox.com (The owner of the bakery, Anne Heap, is really a lovely designer.)

and

CakeWrecks.blogspot.com (For all of the hideous wedding cakes out there!)

Call it Spring

Between work and everything else, we have been enjoying a lot of time outside with the puppy! It has been such great weather lately, perfectly warm. We have been taking lots of long drives in the new car.

Hy took it to the shop today and got the windows tinted for me. Looks really good I think!

Before---

After---

(Cute right?)

-------------------------------------------

My favorite part of the afternoons is to go and lay out in the grass with Lily. She loves rolling around in the grass and I work on cake sketching. Its really nice and relaxing.

The big pansies I bought this year, but the miniature pansies I cultivated last year! Cute stuff.

I love our house in the spring, its really fun to let Lily go nuts in our big yards!

Look at that face! haha

* I have to brag for a second! FINALLY my car is cleaner than Hucks massive truck. With our old car this never happened! haha.

Spring Loving

P.s. Mom that big bush is finally starting to bloom, of course AFTER you left! haha.

Graduation weekend!!

It is about time I put up some pictures of graduation and my weekend with my family.
I had a really amazing time when they were here, it was great.

Daddy and I at the Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks

Lily charmed everyone, especially dad, with her sweet face

----------------------------------------------------------------
Ummmm, what else?? Oh right, I graduated from college!( My degree should show up any day now!)

(About to get the show started!)

Coming off the state, being closely followed by friends Dave and Lori.

At last!

GramZ first experience with the Portland Max

------------------------------------------------------------

we did a bunch of eating out.......no pictures.........it isnt pretty.

(although while eating at Joe's on the River, I did happen to notice a rogue pickled toe had landed in my dad's lobster boil. Many pictures were taken before it was then handed back to our VERY patient waiter.)

-------------------------------------------------------------

We also took a day trip to the very near coast. It was great.

We all stopped at a hoodie place and had some monogrammed. GramZ almost walked out with a bright yellow "Bitch" hoodie. ( In her defence, she thought it said BEACH.) I got a bright green one with Chef Kenzi printed on the back.

We then spent a very wonderful lunch eating at our favorite little cafe that has the worlds best sweet potato fries (just ask me or my mom!. It also has the freshest fish you can get. Delicious.

After lunch we high-tailed it down to the beach, where we wore gramZ out.

Mom and Dad really loved it, and it was pretty much the nicest day we could have asked for!

Two peas in a pod!!Look at those cute faces.

----------------------------------------------------------

They made us soo tired and it was time for them to go ;)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So other than that wonderful week, our lives are back to normal. We have been working our butts off and enjoying roadtrips in our car. Next trip is in June, when we are driving to my home town of American Fork to spend time with some family.......and my best friends Tori, and Tami! And I am very excited because my amazing hair dresser, child hood friend, Tory Hampton is doing my hair again...(she did it that black and redish color I had last fall!)

Mama's got a brand new........

Today Hy and I (FINALLY) got a brand new car. Our Galant ate the big one last week, and so it was nice to be able to just say FORGET ABOUT IT!

So we sold the girl to a salvage yard and took the cash and RAN!

The whole situation was pretty easy; we planned on spending the ENTIRE day stuck with sketchy car men. But it turned up being pretty awesome.

Soo Finally. To introduce the newest member of our household, haha!!

Our Hyundai Sonata 2009!!

(Ahhh Sexy!!)

When I said new...I ment new...look at the numbers baby!!61.9 for this trip, and only 65 total!

*Oh and did I mention it was a stick?? haha

blogging hiatus...

I haven't really felt like blogging much lately. I have been getting lots of things ready for this weekend. My parents and Grandma Zola are coming up this Friday for my graduation (!!!!) and staying until Monday. I am so excited to be graduating! Should be a big old blast.

-----------------------------------------

This morning I drove into Gresham to go take a look at the progress of the new Sweet Cakes head quarters. There has definately been a TON of progress and I cant wait to show pictures of it all finished up!!

All the carpet has been ripped out and the walls have been painted a very bright pink! There is also going to be black and white tiles on the floor. Should be lots of fun and bright!

A different angle of S.C.(Sweet Cakes) The door to the left is the future decorating room and the one to right is going to be the tasting room and main office. It is going to be such fun! (and also the back of my BFF's head!! haha what a cutie)

The Gresham high school is pretty close to the shop and I guess there was some action before everyone got there this morning! A few HOOLIGANS got into it and one ended up having their head shoved through a S.C. window. The EMTs were called and I showed up later to take a picture. (of course!)

----------------------------------------------------

Between allergies and impending Swine Flu, I have been gorging myself on lots of vitamins...haha.

Boxes and boxes of vitamins!Thank you to my dear friend Tamalyn for shipping me these from her old job haha.

So far so good!

-----------------------------------------------------------

More pictures after this weekend with trips to the beach, graduation, chocolate and sugar show pieces, and family fun!
