April 24th, 2009........

I am finished earning my degree!

Next week I start my job working for that same awesome cake shop Sweet Cakes. Cant wait until this summer when everything is so crazy busy! its going to be pretty fun!

Tomorrow night we are taking some friends with us and going to Oscars. Should be a fun night of kareoke and my poor slider game skills.

There were a lot of birthday cakes this weekend for the shop. It was really fun; I felt like I had more responsibilities than ever before... and I loved it! I got to get some good practice doing things that I am not totally comfortable with yet.

I took a few pictures of some of the Awesome stuff Melissa does (and some of mine too!)

Pretty soon, I think I am going to start designing a Sweet Cakes blog to show whats going on with the shop!

Time to go rest up for our fun day tomorrow!

One day left......

Tomorrow at 4:30 PM, I will be done with school. NO more papers, no more faxing disasters, no more unnecissary trips to downtown in the middle of rush hour.

Its been really amazing externing for Sweet Cakes for the last 3 months. I am so happy that they have offered me a position, one that I know I will love for a long time.

Its a really big weekend and I am so excited!

This last weekend Hyrum and I spent a lot of time cleaning our house, touching up with paint, and redecorating a few rooms in our house. I will be spending the whole weekend doing more!

We got some of our pictures printed in lots of different sizes so we could have some in our house. That was our 2nd Wedding Anniversary present to each other. Oh and lots of paint! haha we are soo exciting!

I will have pictures when everything is finished being done!

We took a break from doing everything and decided to take Lily to the elementary school down the road and play football.

It was really fun and I know Lily and Huck had a great time too!

Last week, Melissa and I made a really awesome cake for a 50th birthday party. We spent time hand making fondant flowers and getting everything ready! We loved the whole thing, and it was definately fun to do.

But then.........

They never picked their cake up.

(WHAT?!)

( Its a week later, and we finally dove into it.......... it wasn't pretty.)

Call It Life

I have decided to post this 42 minutes before it is officially April 14th. Huck and I will both be working all day tomorrow until about 6. Then off to dinner and whatever else we are doing to celebrate.

What are we celebrating tomorrow you ask??

Being married for 2 years!

2 incredibly loud, funny, crazy, entertaining, homework filled years.

This month is a big one for us.

Our 2nd wedding anniversary.
Me being done with school.
Getting hired for a pretty freaking sweet job.

Strength is something I have never been with out.

I was born from a woman who's strength is undeniable. She was born from a woman who's strength carries us both.

But Hyrum?

Well, he gives me grace.

Because of him, I believe all of those wonderful things that couldnt possibly be true:

1. One true loves.
2. Loving the same person for an entire life.
3. Growing together with age, not apart.
4. Loving one another even more than the day we were married.

Its not what I thought it would be; its beyond better.

Simple Simply Lovely

Today was an awesome day! I was able to go on a cake delivery with Melissa and it was so much fun! We delivered the cake to the McMenamins (SP?) in Portland, that apparently used to be an insane assylum. Ummm....awesome.

The cake was entirely simple, but once you stepped back and took it in, it was simply lovely. I took a few pictures of Melissa stacking the cakes at the site
(the cakes that I baked...holy cow I know). The whole experience was really awesome.

Have I used the word awesome in this post 10 times already? Im sure I have. Well it definately was awesome.

Even more awesome(#12) was that Melissa and I talked about my future with Sweet Cakes and she sees a position for me and asked if I saw the same.It must have taken me a split second to answer over her "UM YES!"

Needless to say......pretty awesome day.







Here are a few pictures of the McMenamins place over in Portland.There are tons of murals all over the walls, pipes, utility doors and panels. It is pretty incredible, especially for a former assylum.

P.s. The downstairs gave Melissa and I both a very creepy feeling.
