Nice and lazy weekend.

I am a really big follower of the blog Kelly's Corner. And every Friday they do a different "Show Me" type situation. This last Friday was a "Master Bedroom Show Me". Hundreds of people out in the hemisphere of blogging, uploaded pictures of their bedrooms.

And of course the slacker that I am, waited until today to do it.

Nothing fancy but it suits us so well.

We have a king sized bed and we absolutely love it! I sleep on my stomach sprawled like a frog, so it is nice to have a little bit of room!

And of course, right next to our bed is Lily's bed.

All of our furniture in our bedroom (and Hy's dressing room) is part of an antique set that we love so much.

And of course......on my bedside table.....my latest obsession.

Almost there....

I went to work this morning and I am amazed at how every day the store progresses more and more. It seems that just last week the shop looked like this.....

But now when I go to work...it looks like this!!

We have been working lots and lots on filling both display cases and all of the weddings this weekend! Its getting there. By the time I left tonight there were lots more goodies in the cases. And it all just looked so amazing.

The shop hasnt had its official grand opening yet, but we have had some quiet purchases..........and guess what?! People are actually buying the truffles I've been working on!

Look at Melissa's lovely decorating room. She is a BRILLIANT decorator and I know she will teach me SOO much.

This is where I spend the majority of my time and I have a blast!

I love coming into work in the morning and seeing the bright and beautiful colors. There are lots of little things that need to be put into place or finished, but after looking at that first photo......you can tell how much work has been put into it by M and A!

I cant wait to spend many LONG hours dreaming up new ideas with M!!

American Fork and Beyond...

Hyrum and I have been planning our weekend visit to my hometown of American Fork for a few months now. My grandparents were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and a big party was planned!

We started out on Thursday night, like planned, and drove the 12 hours straight to my Grandma's house.

We got to Utah in the wee hours of the morning and stopped to take a quick picture of the valley. It was really refreshing to not be surrounded by trees for a minute!

--------------------------------------------

Hy and I got to AF about 8-ish and took a 2 hour nap before finding out Gramps was being rushed to St. George in an ambulance for emergency surgery. He had a perforated bowel and was in a really bad spot. It was a pretty dangerous situation.

We rushed down to see Gramps and spent the rest of our time between my parents house and the hospital. Thankfully we were at the hospital my dad works at, with a lot of people that love our family who took great care of Grandpa Max.

It was a very emotional weekend and I didnt take nearly as many pictures as I had promised myself I would take.

I love him so much!

-----------------------------------------------------

In the time that I wasnt at the hospital, I got to spend a lot of time with my most favorite person.

I just had to steal this picture from his mama, my sister in law. He is so freaking adorable. His is able to say Aunt Kenni now and he is on his way to being a bonafide "Lady Killer".

-------------------------------------------------------

So needless to say, the cake I had been planning months for was a no go.....for that weekend at least. I trekked all of the stuff for it all the way out to Utah, and all the way back to Vancouver. I decided that no matter what......I WAS GOING TO FINISH THIS CAKE!

I think it turned out nicely, and I hope it's something my grandparents would have liked.

-------------------------------------------

Hy and I have been really sleepy after this whole journey, and this is what I found tonight after my shower......

------------------------------------------------------
Today Sweet Cakes went through its Health Inspection and is well on it's way to having the opening weekend! I am really looking forward to seeing it all done and everything in its place!!

Other than that, I havent felt like blogging too much lately.
