Been a little while...

I have been really busy with work and life lately and havent had any time to write! Or I have been passing out on the couch around 8 every night!

------------------------------------------------------

Lily is doing much better. She got her stitches out yesterday and the wounds are pretty much healing nicely. She has some swelling, maybe infection, in one of her joints and they had to do a "BUBopsy". We will find out in a few days what is going on.

Other than that......no more stupid cone!

(Her head is so big that we had to fasten the cone on the largest ring....making it satelite dish HUGE. She has knocked us both to the ground more times than we would like to admit.)

She is still really attached to us though.....

------------------------------------------------------------

I got on Hy's case the other day about how I bake SOO much for him and how he never suprises me with any baked treats. I was totally kidding and trying to give him a little bit of crap, and soon headed into the shower.

When I got out, I found him making AMAZING chocolate brownies... can you believe it??

I couldn't either....so I took a picture for proof!

------------------------------------------------------------
My good friend Cassandra Lynn FINALLY had her baby girl! After what must have seemed like the longest pregnancy EVER ( what with being dialated for 4 cm for nearly 2 weeks) gave birth to a beautiful girl named

Olivia Honey Lynn Rangel

She has been fighting off some jaundace but things are looking better.

I cant wait to see baby and mama. I am so happy that that they have each other!

-------------------------------------------------------------
Ive just been working up a storm, my hours got doubled and I am now 4 1/2 weeks away from graduation. I cant hardly wait.

Been making lots and lots of cakes and working really hard on my cake designs. Melissa got me into sketching lots of cake designs and now I am really into it!

Nothing too exciting, just a quick work party cake.
--------------------------------------------------

Thats about everything......lots of Lily, work, friends, family, school. The WHOLE THING.

Lily is slowly getting better! There are lots of pills everyday that she has to take and of course....that stupid cone!! She has become really attached to Hy and I over the last week and a half. In the picture below she is sleeping between my legs, she's a snuggler.....go figure.

I have exactly six weeks left of my externship before I am DONE! I am soo excited. Who knows what will happen after that! It will just feel so nice to have my degree! Wish me luck

Our life in numbers...

Since last Thursday, there have been a lot of numbers in our life. Shall we start??

3- Days of my externship I have had to miss.

6- Vet visits in one week.

8- Number of pills we have to force on the puppy daily.

10- Kids in the road, walking to school, that the driver miaculously missed.

104- The temperature of the fever Lily sprouted while trying to rid her body of infection from one of her injuries.

796.56- the amount of money we have spent in the last 5 days on vet visits and medicine.

6.2- weeks left until I graduate from college!!

Lily update

Lily is doing alright. She is resting a lot, but still wants to run around. WHich is pretty hard to do when you walk like this....

On Saturday morning she had all of her bandages removed, I wont show picturs (they are more graphic than the ones already posted). But she doesnt get the drainage tubes removed until MOnday, if the vet sees fit. She has been having some massive swelling on one of her ankles where there is a stitched up wound. Hopefully it will soon go down.

Until then we are still having her sleep downstairs, although she can go upstairs when she wants(makes us more nervous than her for sure).

Thanks for all of the calls and texts and email about our girl. WE really appreciate it all.

No Good, Terrible, Very Horrible Day...

This morning as Hy and Lily were starting the truck, like they usually do, a woman came careening down the street in her "beater". In fact she was going soo fast that she didn't see my puppy. Needless to say, I almost hurt her.

We rushed Lily over to our Vets office and had them take a look at her. Fortionately for Lily, us, and the driver (GRRR) there were NO BROKEN BONES. Only some very large cuts and bruises. They stitched her on up and put drainage tubes in her back legs. They drugged her good and let us take her home, where she belongs.

They made us have one of those Elizibethian collars at first, but since she was so out of it....we didnt see the point. So for now, we are just focusing on giving her all the love she could need and letting her heal in her own time.

Lily is having a hard time walking right now so we brought her bed downstairs and Hy will be taking the first shift of sleeping on the couch.

Can I just remind people to be more attentive when they drive and to obey all posted speed limits, even IF they do seem tedious. People and Animals deserve it.

There are some pictures and they are graphic.

Just getting home from the vet hospital:

Poor Baby!!

My poor puppy!!

The puppy drugs began to work!
